Salep (Istanbul)

Salep (Istanbul)
Soothing to
the throat
like
a low
rich

Well, after reading this, I MUST try Salep; I have no other option! Lovely!

  2. Wonderful. You will not be disappointed.

  3. I have to agree with letstalkaboutit–I’d never even HEARD of salep, but thanks to context (and then an internet search), I’m ever-so-slightly less ignorant.

I would love to visit Turkey. There’s something very romantic about such an ancient and historical city, the hub of more than one empire, and straddling two continents.

Istanbul is great, and dead cheap. I’ve only been once but would love to go again.

The only time I stepped on Asian soil was in Istanbul. I know, a little bit like my being in Iceland (at the airport)…I’ve always wanted to visit Japan, who knows…

Have you read Pamuk? I quite like Snow.
