An old willow with hollow branches
slowly swayed his few high bright tendrils
and sang:

Love is a young green willow
shimmering at the bare wood’s edge.

  1. WCW is one of those poets whose verse is SO simple that I figure he’s got to be a fraud. And yet, all these years later, I’m still thinking about plums in the icebox. I don’t even like plums.
