Number 14 in Rock (Pop/Folk) is Carole King’s Tapestry.
It really is such a beautiful album. Really enjoyed listening to it today.
Always have enjoyed listening to Carol King’s Tapestry. Ageless.
It is. The voice, lyrics, melodies, everything.
Awesome choice! This song is on one of my all time favorite albums. :-D
I could not have survived high school without this album. It’s still possible to pick this up at a thrift store, and although I did buy it on iTunes, it’s still not the same as on an old fashioned “record player.” Thanks for a chance to remember back to how things used to be.
It was one of the records in my older sister’s collection, and I can still see it turning about on her record player. Grateful to her for having such good taste.
My favorite on this album was Smackwater Jack, it was so different to the rest, which were, of course, still great.
“You can’t talk to a man/With a shotgun in his hand.”
This is one of the best albums of all time showcasing timeless songwriting. Genius work. How many hit songs are on it? Who can boast such a claim these days? I feel the Earth move…
“Something inside has died…”
Yes, it’s exactly as you’ve said. Superb songwriting.
I have this album. Love it, but I couldn’t resist listening to Carole King again on your post. Thank you, Tom.
You’re welcome, Judy.
Such great songs.
Always have loved this album, Tom, but I have to tell you before I move on to some of your other posts, I also am really enjoying the jazz music and have been jotting down the info to download many of your choices. Thanks!
Very glad to hear!
