  2. Yes, it does give one a tranquil feeling.
    The credit, of course, goes to the translator, Stanley Lombardo, who I think here and elsewhere has made the Odyssey extremely accessible. He’s created an experience similar to the one I had in reading The Good News Translation of the Bible. The story told in everyday English.
