  1. I’m a big Randy Newman fan… this is one of the first songs I ever heard of his, totally love it.

  2. Not at all pertinent to the subject, but I picked up “Water & Silt” the other day, and will begin reading it tonight. Been meaning to buy it for a couple weeks, but wanted to finish Morrissey’s “Autobiography” first.

    • Much appreciated. Let me know what you think.
How did you find the autobiography?

      • For good and bad, Morrissey’s autobiography pretty much confirmed everything I’d ever believed about Stephen Morrissey–he’s gifted, intelligent, poetic, sensitive, petty, petulant, unhappy, unforgiving, self-obsessed and generally a pain in the rear.

The book is interesting, mostly well-written (Morrissey writes in a very interesting, complex prose), but is overlong. Also, Morrissey talks so much that he eventually begins to contradict some of his own statements. It’s cliche to say it, but Morrissey could be in a crowd, but he’d still be alone–completely alone. And it’s his own damn fault.

      • Thanks for that. I imagine you could write some damn good reviews.

      • Thank you. However, (and I imagine you’d agree, given your proclivity for writing) that it’s better to be a creator than a critic.

  3. I can’t say I’m a big fan of critics. However, if you can find a reviewer who shares your tastes they can be an interesting read.
