I started a great book, “The Greatest of Empires: A Life of Seneca,” title taken from another one of his quotes, “The greatest empire is to be emperor of oneself.”
Rather like the Epicurean ideal, “to live quietly with one’s close friends and contemplate the random movements of the atomic universe.”
I also like another quote from Seneca: “even while men teach, they learn.”
