Nice… kind of Mozart meets Vivaldi (:

    • Interesting comment. I should listen to it again with that in mind. I love listening to music and being able to hear shades of other musicians. In some of Haydn I’ve heard things of Chopin, Beethoven, and Brahms that would come.

By the way, I was listening to Vivaldi’s cello sonatas yesterday, gorgeous stuff. But then again I have a weak spot for the cello and Vivaldi.

I don’t know if it’s a syndrome, but I always hear other artists in most music, except in the music of those very rare artists who are not, deliberately or otherwise, channeling other artists.
I don’t think I’ve heard any Vivaldi I didn’t like, though I’m far from informed about his output. I’ll try to find his cello sonatas.
Did you have a look at True Blood? Your verdict?

  4. I just found the first episode – I’ll give it a watch and let you know what I think.

    • I just got done watching the first episode. I thought it was a mixed bag. On the negative side there was the gratuitous sex and some of the characters I thought were caricatures. On the positive side, it’s an interesting premise, and I generally found the main characters believable (bartender, Sookie’s brother, etc). The standout for me was Anna Paquin. I’ll keep watching.
